Like Surya Namaskar, Chandra Namaskar is a great sequence to use to warm up to body in preparation for more demanding strenuous asanas. Â Â
While Surya Namaskar focusses on the front and back of the body, with forward folds, gentle back bending and hip flexor stretches, Chandra Namaskar focusses on the side body and hip opening, loosening the side waist and adductors particularly. Â Â
Metaphysically speaking, Surya Namaskar and Chandra Namaskar complement each other. Chandra Namaskar attuned us with the energy of the Moon or Divine Feminine. Â Â
Take note that if you have especially tight adductors, you may want to prepare for Chandra Namaskar with a few rounds of Surya Namaskar, or another warm-up activity, although I do give some modifications in this sequence. Â Â
